Job Title: Graphic Design Assistant – National Service Personnel
We are looking for a visually driven, detail oriented, and proactive Graphic Design Assistant to join our Communications team as part of the National Service Scheme. The successful candidate will play a key role in the conceptualisation and execution of design materials that support both client campaigns and internal brand communications across digital and print media.
You will work alongside a collaborative creative team to transform complex ideas into clear, creative, and visually compelling graphics that meet strategic communication goals. This role is ideal for a passionate young designer seeking hands on experience in a fast paced agency or corporate communication environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Client Focused Design Development
• Create customized visual assets that reflect client branding, messaging, and campaign objectives.
• Design social media graphics, event flyers, marketing collateral, digital banners, pitch decks, and presentation templates tailored for diverse clients.
• Support the design and layout of reports, newsletters, and publications for corporate and development partners.
Internal Brand and Communication Support
• Develop branded content that enhances internal campaigns, announcements, and organizational storytelling.
• Assist in designing materials for events, corporate documents, and internal digital screens.
Creative Collaboration and Execution
• Work closely with content creators and the digital team to ensure cohesive visual storytelling across platforms.
• Participate in brainstorming sessions and contribute ideas for visually engaging concepts and layouts.
• Interpret briefs and feedback with clarity, incorporating revisions quickly while maintaining high design standards.
Asset Management and Trend Awareness
• Maintain an organized and up to date design asset library, including fonts, icons, and brand templates.
• Stay informed on design trends, tools, and best practices across industries and digital platforms.
• Assist in quality checks and ensure brand consistency across all visual materials.
Preferred Skills and Competencies:
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator); familiarity with Canva, or other design tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of design principles, including typography, layout, color theory, and visual hierarchy.
• Ability to manage multiple design tasks with accuracy and creativity under tight deadlines.
• Keen eye for detail and a strong sense of brand aesthetics.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with a solution oriented mindset.
Qualification:
• A recent graduate from a recognized tertiary institution with a background in Graphic Design, Communication Design and
any other related discipline.
• A portfolio demonstrating creativity, versatility, and understanding of design across various formats.
